Set by hand. Checked twice.

The mount is cast, filed and polished before the diamond goes near it. The stone is set by hand in Surat, then we check the seat and the claws again in Vadodara before it's boxed.

About the Solitaire collection

A solitaire is one lab-grown diamond and the least gold needed to hold it well. We make four shapes (round, oval, pear and emerald, with more to come) in three settings, as pendants, studs, bracelets and rings. Every piece ships with an SGL report, with IGI on request, and all the gold is BIS hallmarked.

Shape changes the piece more than carat does. A round stone returns the most light and reads brightest across a room. An oval looks larger than its weight and lengthens the finger or the neck. A pear points, so it suits a pendant more than a ring for most people. An emerald cut shows clarity rather than sparkle, which is why we only cut it in VS and above.

The difference in price is almost entirely the stone. Setting and metal move it by a few thousand rupees; carat moves it by lakhs. If you're choosing between a larger stone in 9kt and a smaller one in 14kt, the larger stone is usually the piece you'll keep wearing.

Questions about this collection

Which shape looks biggest for its carat?

Oval and pear. Their length spreads the weight over more surface, so they look larger than a round stone of the same carat.

Is 0.5ct too small for a pendant?

No. At 42cm a 0.5ct pendant reads clearly in daylight. Under a collar, most people go smaller rather than larger.

Can I upgrade the stone later?

Yes, through lifetime exchange*. We credit 100% of the gold's current value and 90% of the diamond's towards a larger stone. You pay the difference. Making charges aren't credited.

Do the settings suit every shape?

Bezel suits all four. Prong suits round and oval best. Halo works with any shape but changes the look of an emerald cut most.
